1959 Air King
I finally have the time to post some pictures of my Air King which was recently service by watchmaker international. I was very please how everything worked out with the service I got from them. Anyways here the pictures some before and after. Note on the dial the watermarks I was a little disappointed but I'm starting to like it, it seems he gives a little bit more character.

Nice watch but it's not an AirKing. A 1959 AK would say "Air-King" on the dial and have a reference number of 5500. Also, no AK was a certified chronometer until 2007 when the 114200 came among us.
What you have there is the AKs cousin, the Oyster Perpetual. Sent from my using Tapatalk

Thanks for your information Joe, I always thought it was an Air King after all these years. So do you think that dial is original that came with the watch? I looked up the serial numbers and it does match to 1959.
Thanks

Dial looks like a very late 50s early 60s, the hands which were replaced may have been replaced in the 70s but also could have been original. Everything looks honest for this OP. Service parts from Rolex are expected on a watch that is 50+ years old.
What is the reference number? Should be a 4 digit number opposite the serial. Sent from my using Tapatalk

I think it is too. A 1959 would have a cal1560 movement, they went to the cal1570 in 1965ish

really nice, surely it is a 1002 dial, though when I see the pics looks also like a 1018!

Late 50's - my favorite Rolex era ....
Nice watch fella and really nice on the jubilee bracelet
A few blemishes on the dial simply adds to the character |

This is a 5500 AK, albeit a late dial
