We need a shot between the lugs at the 6,o'clock position to determine the age of the case.

Yes between the lugs there is an engraving of the serial number and with that we can determine the age of the case.

Hi everyone, thanks for your help and support on this but I decided to pass on it purely as a result of the sellers uncertainty regarding its year and originality.
I think it's probably genuine and Im sure that he is, but there were too many questions for the price.
Right decision I hope

all he needed to do was send you pics of the serial no. and it would clear up all doubt one way or the other. That's a shame, it looks like a real beauty to me - are you sure?! Can't you go and see it? It's hard to be absolutely 'certain' about originality with something 40 years old, but just go in with an informed view and judge the watch itself when you see it as a whole. Looks like it wasn't worn for 40 years, that's for sure. That bracelet looks amazing, from what I can see...

It's in Florida and I'm in the UK - that's part of the problem, plus the 20% tax, plus fees, shipping etc etc. finding one in the UK was safer and better value.
I have his details if anyone in the US wants me to hook you up.

By the way, the bracelet has an 'A' code on it which makes it about 1976 as far as I can tell....

The date wheel does not look like it's silver, and the bezel insert looks to be aftermarket.(Look at the gap between the hashmark and 10)
