Tudor Chrono without papers or box
I just found a Tudor watch that I really like at a jewelry store (local, reputable) but it does not have the box or papers. While I would be buying the watch primarily because I really like it, should I be concerned for any reason about it not having box or papers? If I ever wanted to have the watch serviced or sell it, will it matter that it does not have either? Thanks.

Papers are faked more and more these days so less security there than before. If you are not good at identifying the watch you are looking at, it might be best to post some good pics. Those in the know will help you. It would be good to discuss their return policy before leaving the store.

78280 with silver face and black mini-dials. I trust the jeweler and the papers don't bother me...I just like for my watches to come with their boxes...

trusted seller
The biggest issue is authenticity, and if you trust the store, don't worry and buy it. Papers are a lot easier to fake than a watch. Also, any decent (not super expert) watch person can tell a real Rolex/Tudor from a fake.

I bought and sold a lot of watches over the decades, but not as many as the dealers here of course. The difference when buying with or without box and papers is about 10% minimum, IMHO. Papers of course are more important than the box. But I am sure some members here will disagree ....

Can't the local store remove the back of the watch and verify if it is authentic?
