Thanks for the replies.

Yes, it will be my first Rolex. I originally wanted the Daytona but decided that I couldn't live without the date function (plus it is very similar to my Breitling).

I'm revisiting the local AD again next week. I think it will be the SS Sub Date - however I'm still fond of the GMT. Gold would be too ostentatious for my work.
