Sure - HJ watches in Far East Plaza (www.hjwatch.com) is a good place to look. Never been there, but Bonfield (www.bonfield.com.sg) always seems to have a good selection.

I would second the HJ Watch recommendation - #02-35 Far East Plaza. Decent stock, fair prices and nice service.

Other options ( do a Google search for their websites/addresses) are Passions at Funan Centre and Watch Arena along Balestier Road. Both have been around a long time and are reliable.

I find the price of used rolex's in singapore to be nuts!!!!!! With a 15-18% discount and 6 percent back in cash at the airport gst refund counter, the price of a new rolex is marginally higher than a used one. Singapore is really strange in that regard.

Additionally, you can also check the singapore rolex owner's club http://www.sg-roc.com/ and have the watch verified for authenticity before paying cash in full at the Rolex Service Center on Orchard Road....they'll do it for 75 SGD and within 1 hour I think.

Yes I have bought from HJ -no issues.

But for peace of mind, you can always take the watch to Rolex Centre (short walk from Far East) and have it authenticated for S$107 (approx US$80). It takes around 2-3 hours.

and

http://tamages.blogspot.com/2011/12/...-rolex-in.html

Look for Paul at Precision Watch Enterprise or Mr Koh Tik Hoo at Watch Arena, both are the managers at these respective preowned shops and are very patient when dealing with fussy customers such as myself. Russell at HJWatches religiously updates his online stock listings and prices fairly as well. Bonfield is by appointment only and their range is very limited. Monster Time has some nice vintage pieces at rather eye-popping prices but the owner is extremely knowledgeable and is also the founder of Azimuth.

I would avoid Peng Kwee at all costs (literally). Most overpriced in Singapore by some stretch!

To be genuine and eligible for rsc service, 100% of the parts have to be genuine rolex parts right? How do i know for sure?

I found this site earlier today which seems to have similar content to TRF:

http://www.sg-roc.com/

Several private individuals offering larger range of used watches. Also, commercial sponsor Athena seems to have larger inventory.

I would be interested in Ricco's perspective on available and costs in Jakarta. We plan to pass through S'pore en route to Jakarta in May. My Indonesian wife is asking for a Rolex for her birthday and I was considering to go to Time Place in Jakarta for new watches or see what the Jakarta market has to offer for used. I can already see a wide range available in S'pore through this website and links to their commercial sponsors.

forget about preown shops in singapore
price sucks
and you wont know for sure if 100% of the parts of a preown are genuine
get a brand new piece at ADs, you can get 6% rebate off the tax

whatever it is, stay away from Peng Kwee. other than that, used watch stores are generally pretty reliable in Singapore as recommended above.

do your homework on pricing using the For Sale section here as a guide. asking prices of pre-owned Rolex in SG are very high. look on the sg-roc website to get a feel of the asking prices. you can see pre-owned Daytona being sold for much higher than BNIB here on TRF.

you would get a much better deal here from the trusted sellers.

I've looked at thousands of preowned watch listings on trf, vrf, sg-roc, swx and all manner of preowned shop fronts in singapore and a value buy varies depending on model. For example, the singapore preowned market is flooded with ss daytonas now (bnib, lnib, mint etc) and u could negotiate a fairly good deal (compared with asking prices here on trf) for a full set. Two-tone and all gold models are a little pricier due to chinese affinity for gold and its symbol of luck and prosperity.

There are plenty of gmts and subs (ceramic/non-ceramic/vintage) and u won't have a problem finding one for a fair price. It may be questionable on provenance (100% original parts) so one must exercise due diligence in inspecting a preowned rolex in singapore before buying.

the average resale price of a used 116520, below 5yr (95% mint, full set+cert) is ~sgd13-14k in singapore
a brand new 116520 from the AD is sgd16 to 17k

16-18% on which model?
Could it be they buy higher making their pre owned expensive?

It is a known fact in Singapore to STAY AWAY from Peng Kwee. Bad service, lousy price and those sales staff know NOTHING about watches and just more concerned about you parting with your money. totally not professional.

By the way, "Peng Kwee" is a Hokkien dialect word meaning "quite expensive".

Couldn't find any good offer in singapore, preloved prices is crazy. Going to hunt in HK next week...Anyone purchased from Kens Watches before? Will the shop allow us to get it verified at an RSC there during purchase? How much is the verifivation cost?

If Rolex is selling 'hot' there, then surely pre-loved ones will also be ex, due to demand.
