skydweller vs DSSD

Hi, I went into my AD today and they had a RG Sky Dweller, I was quite surprised to see how big it seemed next to my DSSD, also it’s quite a thick watch, thicker than I thought it would be, somewhat like a SEA DWELLER and finally the cornet on the crown lines up to 12 o’clock, apparently, all sky dwellers will have this attention to detail... sorry for the very poor pics from my phone

Didn't realize it was that big! I highly doubt that Rolex is lining up the crown coronet.

I am not sure that your sample size (of ONE watch) is sufficient to draw this conclusion.

Didn't look very elegant... What's up with the pointy lugs?

I have a RG SD and can tell you my crown lines up perfectly and I was told that all SD crowns will line up. Glad to hear your confirmation of what I heard and have experienced with my SD so far.

It is definitely big, but it is very comfortable. I normally wear bracelet but I must say the leather strap is vey comfortable and the watch while big wears as comfortable as my DDII.

Joel,
Does the DD2 bracelet fit on the SkyDweller?

I looked at that but based on my look it does not look like it would fit. The leather strap is the same size but it does not look like the interfaces are the same.

But I'm not an expert so I could be wrong.

You dog! I can't wait to see a wrist shot. As for the crown alignment, I'll be dipped in sheep !

Nice comparison. I also was surprised by the thickness of the SD.

Sam, did you do an incoming post for yours?

I saw another SD over the weekend... the coronet on the crown was also aligned. I told the sales guy that I think Rolex did that on purpose.

Good sir, incoming soon! I am hoping to make this incoming one of the more memorable one's in a long time! I have dropped other hints in the attire thread!

Probably since it is (again probably) a lower production piece (numbers I mean) and it can be hand finished where those minute details can be adjusted? Kinda cool though. Not sure I am digging the profile of the watch though. Must be seen in the flesh I guess.

You should have a read to this European patent deposited by Rolex last year. Sorry I didn't found the corresponding US patent (that probably exists).
It's in French (Rolex being a Swiss company), and If you don't read French it explains the method by which Rolex build a crown that can be adjusted to the wanted position.
