Rolex Milgauss Ref: 1019

^ , Why is it so expensive?

prices start at 3x,xxx USD and goes higher.

No offence, but its a SS watch am i right?

Or is there some significant history piece attached to this model?

Rolex no longer sells that reference. If you've found one for $30K+ that's because the seller thinks a vintage collector is willing to pay that.

They were not popular in the day, so fewer exist, hence they are more rare. This affects price.

Yes they are stainless steel. (no offense taken)

The history is that they were (one of?) the first anti-magnetic watches. The Milgauss was specifically created at the request of CERN.

I guess like everything, price is of an item determined by what a person is willing to pay. This is affected by the number of people looking for an item, and the number of that item available for sale.

thanks for the insight !. I 'm still contemplating as to getting a new black dial Milgauss, or new subC ND or 14060m ND haha
