No Holes Case?
Hello "Rolexers":
What is meant by "no holes case"? Can you please post some picture to explain this. I really appreciate your feedback. Excuse my ignorance |

Where the springbars fit into the case to hold the bracelet, there are outside holes in the older models so you can push a toothpick into them and release the springbars thereby releasing the bracelet.
Newer models do not have the holes in the outside of the case, so you need a tool to remove the bracelet. Some people like lug holes, some do not. Personal preference. (borrowed pictures)...

You are probably refering to lug holes. The first one has lug holes the second does not.

For example, a Rolex Seadweller 16600 has two types of cases. One is newer, with no holes visible from the side of the watch, and older model has holes.
here is a "holes" case |

I don't know of a resource that granular - suffice it to say lugholes began to disappear around 2002-ish with some models and then progressed throughout the line-up until all lugholes were extinct. We can save the whales but pity the poor lugholes
To complicate things even more, a commemorative Sub came out with lugholes even after it's regular sibling models had lost theirs...curiouser and curiouser...

IMO the commemorative Sub (the LV) was shown with lug holes but was not sold with lug holes. Unless someone has one?

Lug holes are sacrosanct and Rolex should bring them back on ALL their SS watches immediately.

Agreed. The lug holes on the Subs and SDs gave it that tool watch feel. As soon as those were no longer present the watch felt more jewellery and less tool. The bracelets became more of a PITA to remove, too.

Agreed.
Bracelet lug pins screw-in with hexagonal recessed heads would be good also. |

I held off buying the 14060M until they almost had stopped making them and I'm so glad I squeezed the trigger when I did.
