Six Sigma Experience Anyone?
Hello,
I would like to hear from anyone with Six Sigma experience and where they got their training. I am considering taking the Villanova Six Sigma online training courses to broaden my horizons. I am currently working in IT and would like to add to my resume. I'm versed in ITIL, Change and Configuration. Any thoughts on Villanova's programs or Six Sigma in general? Thanks in advance! |

I almost saw it RUIN Home Depot's successful Retail Model when Bob Nardelli brought it over from G.E. THE WORST.
It doesn't work on everything! Not sure that helps you other than depending on who your resume is for it might not be a plus. |

It really does depend on the right implementation. The GE version Bob tried worked in manufacturing but was not apt for Retail. It vaulted GE's performance to new heights. At BLS a service quality model reduced flawed provisioning, but didn't help much in Cingular stores. To the OP, the best advice I have is to start with the end state. For example, if we fast forwarded five years - and you were done with your training - where are you working? Some big corporation? A consultancy? Teaching it? Each of these may have profound influence over the best place to get your advanced work done. IMHO, look at which institution is best of breed in turning out successful practitioners in the role you want.
