Vegas and Rolex

Hello, perhaps this is another dumb question but the heck with it. I am bored at office and don't mind the flame. Why do I often read some members writting about going to Vegas and seeing all the different types of Rolex? Is there any special store overthere? I remember once a client came to see me and he had a DJII on him. When I asked him about it he said he got it in Vegas. I assumed he was probably wasted and got screwed at some AD since this guy didn't appear to know anything about the brand.

The inventory they keep in some of the stores is amazing. If there is a rare rolex you want to see, there is a very good chance you can see it there. I have never come across any deals in vegas, but I have seen some very cool watches in the showcase

I think it has to do with the overall atmosphere that Vegas provides. There are no "special" Rolex stores in Vegas, just a lot of AD with tons of selection. I think its very possible for someone to get lucky on gambling and go buy a Rolex... not to mention if they are under the influence of alcohol, which one tend to be in Vegas.

I believe it has to do with the following equation:

(V+LS+EAC)BW= IFRP

Where V is Vegas, LS is Lucky Streak, EAC is Excessive Alcohol Consumption, BW is Big Winnings & IFRP is Impulsive Fancy Rolex Purchase.

p.s. of course you have to believe the initial part of this equation actually happens

Well I think the selection at the Wynn Resort is pretty special. You will never find the number of special Rolex combinations anywhere else in the US - including Rolex boutiques - as you will in Vegas.

For a watch guy, it's tough to beat the collection at Tourneau at Cesears Forum shops. You can easily spend a few hours there.

if you go to Caesar forums, those brands from RM to Breitling they have it all. Its so easy to just go to one place and they have all those brands.

Simply a great place to window shop.

Nothing more than that.

Rolex shop at The Wynn is a nice place.

The boutique at Wynn is impressive. You can find any (and I do mean ANY) model/combo there. Full retail, no discounts; but staff is always friendly and eager to help.

And if you're interested in used Rolexes, you can likely find a huge selection of those in Vegas, just off Fremont St. downtown... in the pawn shops.

Some probably purchased BNIB in one of the strip boutiques less than 24 hours earlier.

Mad Rolex shopping, among other brands, in LV. Best around IMHO.

I have as well.... but the discounts I was offered were not good in my opinion. Great place to look at watches, but that is about it.

The Rolex AD's in Vegas just have a awesome selection. I go once a year and every time I spend at least half a day window shopping at the stores. Some awesome watches every where you look

Even the pawn shops have there used marked up extremely high. I went in a few of them the last time I was in Vegas just to kill some time and they were grossly overpriced. I mean $2000 to $3000 over what high retail should be.

Just was there this summer. Great selection. My recommendation though, walk around find what you like and then go purchase it somewhere else. The only party that would even discuss discounts was Ben Bridge in Fashion Show Mall. I talked in person to all the other shops and none of them would do anything other than ship it for free.

I found this to be the trend with lots of Jewelers there. I went to buy my wife a Chopard timepiece and they wouldn't even budge when in reality that's a 30% discount all day long back home. I even told the guy: give me 20% and I'll pay your right now and the best he could do was "we'll ship it for free."

Obviously though if you can get even a 10-15% discount you would be coming out ahead by just buying from your local ad or a respected forum seller.

Yup. Many discussions on this topic. Vegas has too many folks passing through from near and far with money to burn. Why give a discount when a customer will come in and pay full price?
