First saw mine on this pic I took, then looked it up for real.

The LEC provides me with something that few other watch owners can appreciate and that is those rare times when I look down at my watch and with only my glasses on, the sunlight is just right to fire up that tiny coronet.

I hope I never arrive at a point that the little nuances of WISdom cease to be a source of joy.

I have to admit to looking once I knew it was there. There was no issue with my watch being real but I learned something about how big it is and how difficult it should be to see so that I have a better chance of spotting a fake one in the future.

LOL - I went through this very same process - knew it HAD to be there because I bought from an AD (never really doubted it) but until I could find the sucker I was still not 1000% sure about things.

Then someone on TRF posted to use your cell phone camera with flash in the pure dark - shoot at an angle - and there it was in all its glory !

I wouldn't make the mere presence of LEC the litmus test of Rolex authenticity. Plenty of China junk with them now a days.... Cheers!

Indeed, a very apparent LEC is actually a good way to identify a fake.

Yeah, but the ones we've seen are atrocious.

When everything else looks good, the presence of a correct LEC is pretty good corroboration, but of course, the ultimate authentication is a look at the movement.

Use the LED camera flash on your iPhone I you have one. This usually works.
