Submersible showdown 305 vs 243
I have yet to see both models in person.
I have a fairly large wrist prolly 6.5''? a GMT IIC looks just right on me, daytona's abit small. I was wondering how heavy is the 243 compared to the 305? In addition, i would like to know your preference on either models and why you chose them. Thanks! |

I'd say a 243 on a 6.5" wrist is good. 305 is good if you are good with it, but it is even thicker.
The weight in my opinion shouldn't be an issue provided you have a good fitting strap. Best advice I can offer is to try them both on. I have a 6.5" wrist as well and I would go for the 243, but that is me, not you!

Both are fine Subs but I would choose the 305 between the two. However, Mik is right, you need to see both in person first before making a decision. GL

Is there really much difference in size between 44mm and 47mm?
Sorry i've yet to seen one in person, and there's no OP store in Brisbane Australia. Prolly another 6 more months till I see it in singapore. |

243 for me though i am not exactly a big fan of cyclops. The 243 is tall but I think the 305 is even taller, not by much though.
Another part of the choice is the helium valve which makes a dive watch true to its purpose. |

I chose 243. I also have a 6.5inch wrist. I felt that the 305 looked like a clock on my wrist (the dial is much bigger even though the case is only 3mm larger). It boils down to personal preference. Good luck to you.

I had a 243 and I loved it!!! I will get a 305 next because I want a bigger watch! I have now had a DeepSea almost two weeks! The bigger size is what I love about the Panerai and the DeepSea!! (Glad Rolex finally made a bigger watch!)

I love the design of the 305 better, but the size is too large for me. I would pick the 243. I don't mind the cyclops at all.

I was in a similar dilemma a few years ago and went with the 305. The dial seems more proportionally correct to the size of the case. The dial on the 243 seems slightly too small. For me the 305 has a good weight, due to it being titanium it just feels like a SS Luminor, meaning that the 47mm size does not make it heavier.

In order of preference:
243 T-dial (not a fan of any OP cyclops but Tritium looks hot on that model!) 305 243 L-dial

305 is an amazing watch. Such a great looking watch in hand. Pictures really do not give it justice. 305 gets my vote. It beats out most dive watches made.

I like the 243 well enough but I find the cyclops on top of the date function really distracting so that is a no-go for me.
