Daytona goes to 42mm...upset?

It seems like thousands of people are lusting after (and finally getting) their dream watch, the SS Daytona. More and more people everyday are suddenly getting "the call"...would you be upset if Rolex is suddenly flooding the market so they can release a new model, say, a 42mm? Or a different version? Would you feel like you got "used"? Just wondering.

Wouldn't worry me at all, but I would feel sorry for those who have the smaller wrists and find the 40 mm perfect. The 42 mm would be suitable only for the bigger wristed guys.....which really wouldn't be fair to those with the smaller wrists.

I think 40 MM is big enough. Not a fan of huge watches! A lot of us old geezers still view a watch as a timekeeper rather than a fashion statement.

It would not make me upset!

On the contrary!

My SS Daytona would rise in price!

I am a younger person, and I am not caught up in the big watch/bling phase that a lot of other young people are caught up in. I hope rolex does not make the daytona 42mm.

I don't think Rolex would make the mistake of ...

making the Daytona 42mm. It's perfect as it is and they know it. They can't make enough of them.

It would annoy me, however if I new it was coming and the dealer was prepared to sweeten the deal then maybe I would not feel so bad.
I think it is inevitable that the 42mm is coming. Rolex have spent the money tooling up for the GMt IIc & YM so why not make the rest of the range 42mm.

Get used to wearing a big watch, you will never want to go back. Ever since I got a Sinn U2, which is 44mm, I have been unable to wear my sub. It just looks so strange and tiny on my wrist.

I would be HAPPY to own the classic Daytona even if its40mm... I will never buy another one even if it does stay the same 40mm so I am very happy with what I have.
42mm and up watches are the new "trend" but with my tiny wrist it would just be a pain. I always thought Rolex had such a great thing going for it, plain designs, nothing flashy at all about them and they still sell like hotcakes. I hope this doesnt change the image in my head...

Is a 40mm with date a possibility?

This would be the most attractive option for me, if anyone from Rolex is reading....
