There have been many worse posts than this, probably most of mine! Lol
Anyway I don't like PCLs on any watch especially tool watches. |

Well I like PCL's...
In all seriousness I think they look quite good on the models on which they're available. Alas, those models happen to be the most modern ones and I'm more of a vintage watches enthusiast but whenever I see a picture of them I think they look good, I don't think they don't belong on a GMT or a solid gold Submariner, without making the watch look over shiny I think it does add a sparkling something that is good to admire. All in all, it's always a matter of tastes, I know I like them!

I brushed my GMT C and absolutely love it that way.
Love PCLs on just about every other model.

My feeling about Rolex tool watches is that even though they are supremely good at the functions they perform Rolex realizes that only rarely will these watches (be it the Sub, GMT, Daytona...) be used solely for the function they were designed for. So they have offered them with metal bracelets, PCLs, precious metals, serti diamond dials, etc. Specifically in the case of the GMT and Sub, Rolex may also realize that by offering the SS GMT with PCLs they give it a different look and may entice more people that own one to also buy the other.

Well said, I think they look great....on your brand new watch....but after wearing it for a while I think scratched up PCL's look really average (IMHO only of course). Some people love the "lived in" look with their Rolex's and I don't mind the patina on my 13 year old Sub but on my Daytona it distresses me to see scratches on the mirror finished PCL's. After seeing photo's on this forum of brushed Daytona's I think it looks great but I just can't bring myself to to do it, instead I just limit the wear and tear by wearing it during special occasions only and wearing the Sub on most other occasions.

If you are going to keep the watch why not brush out the PCL's if you don't dig them.

I think with the ceramic dial and new bracelet, the 116710 is the best SS Rolex currently offers. The pcls add a nice new element, for those who don't like them, they can be brushed or there are many rolexes available without one.
