Found out that it is a "A" series. Guy has everything to it. See Below. He is willing to take 4,000 for it? He also has agreed to bring it to a certified rolex dealer for authentication. What do yall think? Any tips or advice before I pull the trigger? Do yall think it will go up in value? I have been looking at Ebay for quite some time and its rare that a Sub is sold for less than 4g? Anyways, you guys are the pro's. Im the newb. I am thinking about meeting him tommorow.
Thanks in Advance, Red |

4k is a good deal as long as it is what he says it is and can be verified etc etc etc
What does the Rolex "service receipt" say regarding it's servicing? |

Cant thank yall enough for all the valuable input. I have wanted one for years. Everything fell together on this. He had everything in the pic above. All manuals, anchor, 2 hang tags, 2 clothes, cert, genuine wood box. The watch was also serviced in 2007 at Rolex where it was oiled and minor scratches taken out. There were two kickers that made me pull the trigger. I met him at a Rolex dealers store and the watchman took off the braclet and verified the serial. Between the service report and that, its authentic. He also knew as soon as he held it. That interest me. He says he can feel the difference in the replicas. Genuines are many times heavier than replicas. Secondly, the watch is just in pristine condition. No scratches on the face or bezel. Just minor scrathes on the braclet. It looks brand new. Its a "A" series. We cant figure out whether its a 99 or 2000? Thanks to this site, I researched what to do and what not to do before purchasing. I got this watch off of Craigslist but I walked very cautiously....very cautiously and slow. If your following the same road as me. I hope this helps. One other suggestion is this: If you are meeting up with a seller that states he has a genuine Rolex and you have cash in your pocket.....then you need to meet in a PUBLIC PLACE. This would be in the best interest of BOTH parties. I met this guy in a place that was riddled with security cameras. Best 20 bucks I ever spent was paying the watch dealer to verify.
Thanks my friends! RedTail |
