Try getting a job or interning with a local watchmaker, that's probably the best way to learn. You can also just start reading books on it and practicing yourself.

You could go to the British school of watchmaking in Manchester.

Welcome to TRF. You've certainly come to the right place for information. There are a number of watchmakers on this forum. I've also heard talk of someone (Canadian, I think) that is currently attending watchmaking school.

Follow your passion!

Where's Carl?

Here's a great blog run by the watchmaker at my AD.

He has shared his experiences at Leititz, Pa., and a the National School in Canada.

It makes for some good reading.

Thanks for the help everyone I think what I will do is phone local watchmakers see if I could try and get some sort of job or ask how they learned as where I live the are no courses or schools which teach it.
