Whats yr next watch in '08

Well everyone, the new year is soon to be upon us.Just wondering, what is your next possible watch for '08.???

For me, being a vintage freak, I'll try to get my grimy hands on a ROLEX 16760.....the 'FAT LADY'.And to make it more challenging.....WITH box and PAPERS.I don't just want any Rollie that I can buy so long as I've got the cash. Its gotta 1 that even WITH tons of money......it may still not be possible to get.

So......whats yours.....

I'm thinking between the Yachmaster and TT Daytona, wich one do you think will be my best decision.

I probably shouldn't say this, but my next is either a Panerai 177 or 88. The longer I wait the stronger the pull towards the 88. After that I can see the GMT IIc at the top of my list

That's not even a fair fight..

The Yachtmaster is a blinged Sub...

The Daytona is an icon....

If those two are all you're considering in the vast universe of remarkable watches then there is NO CHOICE AT ALL. Daytona.

Either a Seiko Springdrive or a Glashutte Original.

Who knows?I would go for Seiko Spring Drive, but it cannot be found in Serbia,Tudors are incredibly overpriced here,so I guess that after all I`ll try to manage some more money ant try to get myself either pre-owned or brand new SS Sub.Or even Datejust.

Vukota,
It must be hard in your country to find nice watches. Hopefully some of the nice people on the forum can help you find a nice Rolex. Is it easy to have goods sent in from other countries? I have heard in some eastern european and even in Italy it's really hard to have nice items shipped in. Best of luck.

Tempted to go for a GMT-IIC or Submariner LV although im thinking that if i get another one I might like one more then the other. And so the other one wont be worn as much.

I am thinking of getting another Sea Dweller. I am gonna start wearing my SD soon and have plenty of play money left to buy one more. I am sort of undecided between the SS SUB NO DATE and SEADWELLER. they are coming out to almost the same price, with the SD about $800 more. I do not have SS SUB NO DATE but I do have SUB SS WITH DATE. So my main line of thought is this: Yes, I do have a SD and i want to buy another ROLEX. IT has to be the sports series. Thne why not get the toughest built watch for my $$ among the 3 watches? Yes it would be redundant having 2 SDs but SD looks and feels significantly tougher than SS SUBs. I don't know, I have this psychological problem with having the toughest, even though I am a wimp .... so I will be getting another SD....

I've got a list:

White Seamaster GMT
Zenith class chrono (old 3-dial style)
Silver stick dial DJ w/ WG bezel with new jubilee (slightly loved and highly discounted, of course)

I'm just waiting for one of them to show themselves to me. I'll be waiting....

I hope to just buy one or two and may have flip one or two to make it affordable.

1. WG Daytona with meteorite dial or the white dial with arabic numbers. I'd probably sell the SS Daytona to help pay for that.

2. Either the VC Patrimony 31 day retrograde or the Lange Langematik Perpetual. If I get the Lange I'll sell the Lange One Moonphase.

Keep things in balance, sport watch for sport watch. Maybe another dress watch or trade one for another.

GMT IIC. Already paid for it...just trying to wait patiently!!

Had to pay for it already as my AD was offering it to me at 12 months no payments no interest, but that offer was about to expire.

That's a tough question because I keep changing my priorities. Right now, I would say either SS Datejust with Roman numeral dial, or SS GMT II, or SS Submariner (probably the 50th Anniversary). Also in contention is the YM with platinum bezel. Now I just need the money!

GMT IIc, although the SS Daytona should be with me in May, but I think I would rather have the GMT IIc.

New Airking or Datejust, although a 16170 Pepsi would be nice also. Only time will tell

Cheers

JJ do you agree with this statement.personally I think there are vast differences between the two to call them a different model.

I think as far as modern goes I've got to wait and see what, if anything, comes out of Bazel this year.

If nothing exciting then a GV is high on the list.

For vintage, a nice 5512 would be my pick.
