A grey market dealer is not authorized by Rolex to sell its products. They buy from authorized dealers or wholesale house to stock their products. If you buy from a grey dealer your Rolex will not be honored by Rolex for warranty service. Make sure the grey dealer offers a comprehensive two year warranty to make-up for it.

A (non-authorized Rolex watch dealer) person or company who sells watches that they have received through secondary channels (such as AD's at a discount), and resell them to the public at costs that are usually below MSRP.

open just means no name and date..originally the rolex had to come from an authorized dealer..grey dealers usually buy from over seas in countries where the dollar is still strong - like japan - the watch comes with warranty papers that are not dated..the greay dealer imports from out of the country then sells locally - you get the box, warranty papers and everything else.after a year or so you should sign and date the warranty papers (unless you resell)..that way you actually have a longer warranty (not that you will need it)

The grey dealer?
Proves that Rolex does not RETAIL all the watches it produces as it's dealer must supply to non authorised sources so they can move their stock on. f |
