As cheap as $5K to as much as $15K. All depends on originality, condition, documentation and if it has box/papers and all the extra's. Average ones are $8-$10K range.

IMO it depends more on the dial than anything else but as stated, lots of variables. :)

Sold mine a couple of months ago for £8,000. about $16,000. but it was mint with box and papers, also i had got it from the original owner. the dial was exceptional this makes a huge impact on the value. wish i kept it now will be very hard to replace. i have heard of other similar examples making even more.

I agree with everyone and what they have said. I would add this word of caution in the Western U.S. there have been many fake or altered red dials pop up due to the high price they command. Have a knowledgably AD or some one who really knows Red Subs help you. I would not trust myself as I do not know enough information about the red subs to make an educated purchase. I love the red subs I know for myself it is a Rolex I will never have unless Rolex puts out a new version of it. Good luck to you.

I had a look at a Red Sub recently in a vintage watch store. Without papers, it was DKR. 42,000 (8,000 Dollars).
It is my grail watch, and I hope to get one some day.

There is definitely that mystic "something" about Red Subs that makes them extremely desirable.

Amazing that the Red can command these prices.

You have to be oh so careful about not getting a "modded" dial.
It is worth the "dial artist's" time to "upgrade" a dial. That's another $5k extra for the watch. They can be differentiated, but at high magnification and by an expert's eye, at least for the latest efforts.
