Sign Pen

Hi guys please recommend a good sign pen.
I'll be using it mostly to sign documents.
I'd like my signature to look bold...
I have a meisterstuck ballpoint and a boheme roller ball which i regret slightly for buying as it is very short unless the cap is fitted back which takes longer the signing...

Is fp or rb better? Which model do you suggest?

For signing documents and paperwork you should use either rollerball or ballpoint pens as fountain pens would not be practical for use where you need to apply pressure. There are many excellent companies to choose from so your best bet is to go to a pen store and spend some time checking them out. This way you can hold them and write with the pens and then decide which pen works best for you. There is no one 'right choice' as each person has their own preferences...so good luck and let us know what pen you decide on!!!

Take it easy.....Leo

I disagree slightly with the others. If its a signature pen you're looking for a FP is nice to have. If its for carbon copies etc then a ballpoint. Go to a good pen store and try out a few. All nibs slightly different etc. A few would be brands: Montblanc, Pelikan, Parker, Montegrappa, Visconti, Namiki, Sailor, plus many others. Good Luck!

Fp is the gold standard for signing. However I think you have to look at the ink. I would avoid any of the washable ink if signing important documents or letters. Back when I used a fp I was enjoying noodlers ink. Good luck.

Vintage Parker 51 with a broad or wide nib. These are the best pens made in history, they are true fountain pens, and you can bear down hard when you write (if you wish) without damaging the nib...
