In a sea of fakes, I can understand your worries. I don't know about the crown stamp your guy is talking about though. That said, many new ones I've come across have slight imperfections, like yours does, on the back. Nothing to worry about- and yours looks legit.

The pearl is usually suspect in fakes, along with the back "stepping". Make sure your guy installs it properly, and have home explain further about the crown stamp!!!!!!!
