Any idea what make and model this watch is? It was my grandmothers and it was recently given to me:

I'm afraid I cannot tell by the case and the dial (although it does look like a very nice watch) unless you try to search for a brand that has a crown logo like the one on the caseback, timepieces that are that old (I'll take a wild guess and say it comes from the 1930's or 1940's) did come without any names on their dials sometimes. If you want to know who made the movement it will be engraved somewhere (I'd recommend you to take a look on the plate underneath the hairspring).

I found a stamp on the bracelet. Says "Am Charnier".

Looks like a French manufacturer of watch chains. Still no clue about the watch itself.

Try searching hallmarks and perhaps you will find them on the internet. That would provide more clues. Good luck.

It looks like something Mon received when he graduated in kindergarten.

The 14k case would lead me towards North American fabrication vs. European where cases were mostly 9k or 18k. But can't nail it down.

I agree with another comment that it would be good to get it apart - get it serviced and check for other marks beneath the bridge or back of the dial.

Can't find a similar one, but the prominent gemstone cap on the crown was very popular with Cartier years ago. So many vintage ladies coctail watches out there, though....
