Regarding the Samsung Galaxy SIII w/ Sprint.....
Anyone know the best way to root it? One that actually works! Mine is a SPH-L710 running on Android 4.1.2
TIA! |

Love the phone. Rooting it is like jailbreaking an iPhone. It allows you to use the phone as a WiFi hotspot.

Down load PdaNet from the Android market. Pay $15 for the registered version and you can use your phone as a hotspot. If you download foxfi also it will be wireless. I use it with Verizon and I have the same phone you do. Works like a charm and you do not have to fool with rooting the phone.

As of today, the Samsung SIII isn't supported in PDANet+ using Sprint. (FoxFi is now part of the new package.)
It is supported on VZ. Don't upgrade to with Jelly Bean 4.2 OS or you'll lose tethering. Welcome to the grey areas of smartphones I agree that fiddling with a new rootkit could be more trouble than it's worth. Whichever App you choose, be sure it hides the other devices' MAC addresses that connect to your phone behind it's proxy server. Otherwise Sprint will simply add the tether plan to your bill. (Yes, they can - read your EULA)
