I bought a 2006 z serial non hole case sea dweller few months back purchased literally 6 weeks after my first Rolex ever my TT 16613 sub. It was meant to be purchased then sold the next day as I got a crazy deal on it. Won't be selling it anytime soon instantly felt a strong bond towards it now it gets worn religiously every second day. Very difficult to let go even for a lot of money.

Thanks for the feedback everyone! I think I'll fix and keep the SD and save up for a Daytona to add down the line. The trade would have been about $8050 taxes in for a new Daytona. For another $3K (or a bit less) I could have my SD serviced and looking brand new, then add a mint late model Daytona for a modest "collection" of two. Makes sense to me now.

White dial is the way to go on the Daytona if you do make the move.

I have flipped 3 of the 4 daytonas I have owned but have only ever had one SD.

I would choose to keep my SD over a Daytona every time.

Save up for the Daytona, and definitely go with WHITE!

Just a question. Isn't it odd for AD to be doing this with a model that is already in "high" demand thus providing no discounts on them?

This is a wild guess but I think Rolex is overstocked with them thus providing YOU the customer to swap. (but I could be wrong)

FWIW my AD offered me $4,500 trade value on an SD, on nothing in particular. Since I usually get roughly 10% off on Rolex SS from him, I decided to pass on a trade. It wasn't a difficult choice. I love the SD, and am not a fan of the Daytona.

I would not, but I am not a fan of chronometers in general. Dials are too busy for my taste and I have no use for a timing complication.

Keep the SD. I have never understood the attraction of the Daytona. I have tried them on at AD's and find it very hard to read the time, especially the black dial Daytona.

Have you tried on a Daytona? I was infatuated with the black SS Daytona until I tried it on. It was...... Underwhelming... Gorgeous, don't get me wrong but it felt dainty. So if you’re used to a Sea Dweller, I don't know if you'll feel the Daytona has enough heft for you....
