The "99%ers" that have been mentioned probably wouldn't recognize a Rolex from 5' away. I have only had 2 people notice my watch in the last several years. 99% of the people don't know and don't care. I'm good with that.

I agree. I bought mine because I like it, not to be noticed.

perhaps wearing a rolex (or other $$ automatics) these days puts us in a particular social club. I am proud to be a member.

I think I'm a 99%er and I like Rolex. I tell myself to "suck it" all of the time...

My most often worn Rolex is an AK 14000. Champagne dial, oyster bracelet, and baton markers. Looks like a Seiko from 5FT away. Rolex is a very well made watch, durable, and timeless. But, not really too exclusive considering that there are many other brands that you can spend anywhere from $50,000 to $500,000 on!!!! BTW, no matter how big your house is, how fast your car is, or how hot your wife is.......you know the rest of the story!!!!!!

I own a Seiko Kinetic Titanium Chronograph and I love it, just put it in for a service. I also own a SS Sub Ceramic, and a TT Datejust. Do I look at a Seiko owner and think mine's better? Of course not.

Thank you my friend, it seems we are just becoming to politically correct nowadays. Success should be embraced not shun and expressed how we as individuals think it should and no one else.

Having been on the receiving end of this occasionally... I agree that it does suck and I do wish people would mind their own business. However... expressing outright hostility towards individuals that may not be as fortunate as we are just does not sit right with me.

I'm reminded of a Chris Rock skit from some time ago where he talks about how someone poor can make fun of someone rich, someone fat can make fun of a skinny person, etc... but the opposite isn't considered acceptable. It's about being respectful of those who may not have had the same opportunity or chances as us in life. Some of you may consider it being PC, but I think of it as having respect for others.

Edit: I should say, I am absolutely not advocating the idea of not wearing something you like because of the perception of others. Rather... to not demonize those less fortunate (e.g., "suck it 99%ers").
