My Rolex Explorer II 42mm Black - DSLR shots
Just want to share some photos taken with my Nikon D5100 DSLR camera with a Nikkor 105mm micro-lens. Most of them are shot under manual mode with ISO1600. I will add new shots here from time to time.
Please feel free to critique and suggest how they can be improved. I am still at the learning stage. Cheers! |

It looks like you getting better and better, the best way is practice IMHO because the secret is to learn
to handle the camera and the lights/reflections. There is a lot of guys that believe it's just to buy the most expensive stuff you can find and I can tell you that is not true. I have seen better pics from a mobile phone than a $10K camera equipment. So my advise is to play with your camera and try to find what works for you. Good luck.

Love it!
But you need to do a retake... Stickers left on the crown guards. Yes I've done it too...

Wow really nice photos. I really like #1 and #3. You have some nice lighting and a good depth of field now.
A couple small critiques on #1 would be to somehow freeze that seconds hand and try to get an angle that centres the date in the cyclops. Also, setting the time to 10:10 will clean up the view of the dial, it looks cluttered.

Nice pics - hard subject! I'd say just watch the reflections on the crystal and steel, and make sure there's no dust anywhere! The first one is great. Also, position of hands can make a difference (eg look at the last one!)

That's a great suggestion. I actually bath the watch before the shot but in the interim period, dust catches on. I will take note of this next time. |

Here are a few more shots I just took this morning.
For this shot, I did some meddling in Picasa to spice things up. |
