Bubbleback in Shanghai: Opinions?
Dear friends,
I came across this Bubbleback today while watch hunting in this hectic city. I've never been into this type of Rolex watches before, or had had one in my hands for that, but it's true the watch oozes charm....so it left me wondering. Dealer states case is 14K gold. Case back was steel. I did not open or fiddle with it for too long, as my wife had already left me in the shop, clearly annoyed at spending one more morning looking at cr@ppy watches. She left with her camera, so I could only sneak a mobile phone picture in a poorly lit shop in a basement. Dealer is asking for USD 3,500. What do you guys think? Enjoy your day. |

They are asking far too much, IMO. Dial is refinished, case looks overpolished, and crown is not proper vintage.
