1968 Tudor Submariner 7016/0 with US military provenance
Hello all,
I’ve decided to save up for the grail and sell my 1968 Tudor Submariner 7016/0 serial # of 622XXX. I purchased this watch from the original owner who bought it onboard a Navy ship during a tour in the Vietnam War in 1968. It fits under the “Type 1” designation as described by Tudor collector (http://tudorcollectorsite.blogspot.c...-military.html). I have saved conversations from the original owner that I can share with the buyer if interested. You can read a more detailed account of the watch when I acquired it here: https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=279009 This watch checks out as all original. The original owner that I purchased it from claimed that the watch had “never been opened or molested in any way.” As you can see from the photos, the case has never had a polish. The factory beveled edges are massive and gorgeous; indicative of late 60s time period. The lugs are super thick and the bezel insert has a nice fat font (fattest I’ve seen aside from the “kissing 4s”). The watch has the original twin lock crown, original case back, hands (note: lollipop second hand), dial, bezel, bezel insert, and yes even the original tropic 19 superdome crystal. I managed to buff out a number of the scratches with polywatch yet a few scratches still remain. This watch is a gem to look at. The matching original hands and dial patina is phenomenal! Having never been opened, the watch runs quite well considering (running fast by 1-2 minutes per 24hrs). Nonetheless, it is certainly could use a service. The watch will come on a black or army green maratac NATO strap. It is pictured on a Phoenix Admiralty Grey NATO as well as a Germano leather NATO. I haven’t done much selling on the forum but you may check my feedback on ebay under the username Alfa501 to see my 100% positive feedback. Moreover, you may email me with any questions at [email protected]. I would be happy to speak on the phone as well. Seller must have references. Bank wire only. CONUS. Asking $3500 USD + insured shipping via USPS or UPS. Thanks for looking. Best, Greg
