18 secs too fast

My new Rootbeer Rolex is going 18 secs too fast each day for 2 days now. Is it possible to regulate that much so that it will run within COSC?

Wear it for a month or two and re-set the watch and start to time it again. If it still gains 18 secs a day, then yes send it in to RSC to have it regulated. I would be it will settle down to a chronometer specification in time keeping if you wear it for a month or two straight.

Couple of months ago i bought a m-serial Datejust, sold new in 2008. It was 25 s. fast / 24h so after a week i took it to the watchmaker. He regulated it perfectly, it took only 20 min. and after that it was very accurate, gained less than 1 s./24h.
regards, Tapio

My new EXP II is 12-13 seconds fast per day. Done numerous tests to confirm it, all give the same result. I'm going to give my AD a call and see what he would charge to regulate it. If it's more than $25, I think Ill just wait a year or so until I get it serviced. If it doesn't fix itself in a few weeks, and it's cheap enough, to my AD it goes

The [wempe] rolex shop at 55th and 5th are competent and friendly. Interesting place too. She buffed a scratch in the acrylic cover of my antique rolex for free. Took her less than 10 minutes to do it.

Purchased my DSSD February of 2012, right from the beginning it was running 10 seconds fast a day. i took it in 2 months ago to the NYC RSC and now it is only running 4 seconds fast. Just take it into the RSC.

There should be no problem to regulate to within COSC. Get it done and you will be much happier.

You don't need to send a watch to RSC to have it regulated, so long as you have a watchmaker in your area who is Rolex-certified.

I personally prefer a watchmaker who is Rolex-certified, but I assume it is possible to find a competent, credentialed watchmaker who is not Rolex-certified who could do the job.

Rolex will also regulate watches under warranty. I have had this done this to both my Explorer and my DJ and I presume that my Sub will also need one before the warranty is up.

Grady,
So you've had two regulated and possibly a third, kinda bad luck with the accuracy?
