SS Submariner 16610 timekeeping

I recently took my one year old SS submariner back to my AD because it was running fast (about 5 minutes per month). They sent it back to Rolex and after I got it back i timed it against the USNO clock time for exactly one week. It is now running an average of about 1.1 seconds per day. Is this in the acceptable range for my watch? Thanks!

Mine is brand new and runs +1.8 sec per day. This is well within COSC specs. I think others have commented that it's -4/+6 sec. daily is the acceptable range.

I'm sure Bo or JJ someone will chime in with this soon.

Enjoy your Sub, I know I do!

Couldn't have been said better, Nick!

Nope! You need to send the watch to me. It'll take a while, but I'm sure I can straighten it out for you.

That's great accuracy!

Sure...

That's less than 7 minutes per year...

I just had mine fully serviced at RDC BH and it appears I am running about 25 seconds fast in 10 days or so? Is that ok or should I send it back to be retuned?

Runs a lot like mine lately: about +3/ day. Yours would be +2.5 each day. I'm wondering the same thing, though, because mine used to run +1/day. Can't figure out the reason for the change... it is only about six months old. Had its balance wheel replaced at about six weeks, but that didn't seem to make much difference. Hmmmmm. Not too worried, just very curious.

Position of the watch (crown up, face up, etc) will change accuracy.

We do have to remember that these are automatic, and we must accept a little inaccuracy of these watches. If you need total 100% accuracy, buy yourself a watch that runs on battery.
