Blue, it's put the YM back on the map for Rolex, having said that I was one of the few who liked the Plat dial too.

I am shocked everyone is saying blue. 3-4 years ago everyone was anti-blue.
Below is my first Rolex.

It wears nicely.

This is supposed to be a watch forum & I can't see a watch anywhere in that second pic.

Hi all, I received my blue dial YM today from DavidSW...it is stunning. The dial has a sun ray effect when the light hits it...looks so much better in person, but I'll try to post a photo soon. The classic dial is a beauty too, but the blue with red second hand really pops.

Classic dial without hesitation. I really don't like how the dark blue dial clashes with the platinum bezel and the red second hand. I tried it on at my local AD, and that first impression never went away. Also I love the sparking effect of the sand-blasted platinum in the sun.

I like my blue but selling it tomorrow to fund my new BLNR.

One issue with the blue is that it's sorta the "three faces of eve." The blue really only 'pops' when the light is shining on it the right way. Indoors if not enough light the blue is duller. Overall I like it, but I'd rather have a more more consistent blue (maybe like the sunburst blue, or even the roman azul blue on the DJii).

I really love the blue dial but not a fan of the robust bezel. Wait, a 2 year old thread? Love it!

Blue, Blue, Blue!

Thought I would never own a YM, couldn't see the purpose over a sub. Then came the blue 116622. I tried it on and it was love at first sight.

If one likes blue and is not in the market for a WG Smurf, then the Blue 116622 is my choice every day. I believe it even costs a few pennies less than the classic.

The real question, however, is which do you prefer??

Depends what you own. Nothing silver or white dialed in your collection? Get the classic. If you need something in blue, you have another option.

If I had to pick with no other consideration, I'd go blue. The blue, red, steel combination has that nautical primary colors vibe which speaks to the watches heritage.

I have the classic and just bought an Easylink clasp for it.
If I can get a blue dial to swap out on occasion I will have both a quite a reasonable cost ( in my own mind anyway)
