Alternative to 5113

Hi guys
New here... Usually a pam guy but a sub is calling me since my holidays when I lived In my Christopher ward trident on a NATO.

I have been seriously considering a 5113 - they seem like good value and a bit of history makes them interesting. If I could get an 82 model that would be awesome...

Watchfinder in the uk has a couple one from 76 on from early 80s just wondered what you thought the pros and cons of each would be?
Plus any other general pointers!

Cheers

Hello and welcome! Your question is a bit broad, but you can't go wrong with a 5513. Classic, timeless, iconic. Note that starting in the early '80s, the dial design changed. So keep that it mind during your search to see which version you prefer. If you zero in on a watch you love, you can often get specific advice here if you post photos and ask detailed questions about it. I'd urge you read about the model extensively, then read some more to make sure you know what you're looking at while shopping around. Quite a minefield out there with these vintage models nowadays. Make sure the seller has impeccable credentials. Good luck!

Thanks!
I read a thread about questions to ask when going vintage - wow it really is tricky ! Especially with service parts, replacements etc...

If you buy from a reputable vintage dealer like some of the folks who frequent this forum, they will tell you what you need to know, for instance if the watch is all original or if it has service parts.
