Icon20 Help me please with my first rolex!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is it necessary to take your preowned rolex to a certified watchmaker after buying from a non- authorized dealer such as bobs watches or goldwatchco? They guarantee the authenticity and seem to do a lot of sales and have great reviews. Thanks in advance.

+1 on this, also make sure that you have your new watch pressure tested after the authentication.
Oh, welcome to TRF.

Not unless you're suspicious of it being misrepresented. Remember, a guarantee on the Internet is just about as worthless as the pixels and kilobytes it's printed on. Solid references from folks you can trust, ie this place, are what you need.

I've never used either of those companies but I do know Bob's misrepresented a bnib watch recently. They were very helpful with the return and understanding to the customer and he received a full refund. I helped him with the authentication issue. So in short, Bob's stood behind their word and performed very admirably through the whole thing

IMO YES! I don't care how "trusted" the seller is, I would take any purchase direct to AD/RSC for authentication and full service.

Or post pics here and we can tell you a lot esp if its a new ceramic. If not then make sure the AD checks the mvmnt, just looking at it is not enough.

Should I take it to my local AD and they can authenticate it while I wait or do they typically send it out for that? Just wondering because the return policy is only about 2 days or so on most online dealers. Thanks.

Think it depends on if they have an in-house authorised watchmaker?
Never done it so I don't know, I'm sure someone else will answer for sure though!

Buy from one of the trusted members here. Keep the money in the family. There are a lot of good sellers here, and many of them have BNIB options.
