Another fabulous job by Herndon Clock and Watch
The things that you find out about your watches when you take them to an expert... Amazing stuff.
My 1960 Day Date was not running properly and was likely in need of expert assistance, despite the seller telling me he'd serviced it and everything was peachy keen. It mostly was, but it just wasn't accurate, as much as 5 minutes per day. Dung found that it needed a service, AND the last servicer hadn't put in the hack that was standard with that watch. Coolness! He also fixed an Illinois pocket watch that I really like. The repair was likely more than it's worth, but I knew that when fixed, it would be FIXED. Dung didn't like the way the crystal sat (he said it was too tall) so he replaced it from acrylic kinda icky to glass. Real nice. Last but not least, my first Rolex, my 1997 Yachtmaster I bought new from the AD, to lose maybe 12 years later, missed it a lot, replaced it, and had it re-appear like magic. I'm always happy when the babies come home from the spa

Thank you, Sir. It's a birth year watch that I'm quite fond of :-)

That Day Date is stunning. Love the white dial as well and brushed lugs.

Thank you. This was a watch that I almost couldn't get into the country (it came in from Canada) and was very lucky to get customs to let go of it. Through this I've also learned that unless it's been serviced by a watchmaker I know and trust, I should assume that claims of "fresh services" are meaningless. This watch had a "fresh service" and less than 6 months later, it stopped and would not restart. No longer :-) So happy to have it back.

Those stick dial / balls of lume are my favorite. Perhaps I'll have a Day Date - or DateJust with that dial someday. I passed on a DJ like that a few years ago. Kicking myself you-know-where.
