can only bring one ... Sub 1406M or SS Black Daytona
I've got a wedding this weekend. very casual wedding rehearsal dinner on Friday early evening. Outside casual lunch. But, since I'm in the wedding party, tuxedo at night for the actual wedding. My 'dilemma' --- Sub 1406M or SS black dial Daytona . I was going to go with my JLC Master Calendar, but don't like sweating with a leather band since the lunch will be outside and it looks to be a hot, humid weekend. Thoughts??

Daytona. You're not doing anything that would require the robustness of the Submariner.

Hmmm, tough one. I'll go against the grain here and say Sub, much more subtle peeking out from under the tux, also a bit "James Bond" like!

Etiquette would dictate a black leather strap on your watch with a tuxedo...but I wouldn't hesitate to wear the Daytona.

Daytona....casual and more dressy with a suit or tux than the sub.
If it was a beach wedding...then you know which one would win that battle |

thanks for the comments. yea. there is definitely something about a sub peeking out of the cuff. but the shine of the chrono gets me too. ha. i'll say there are worse problems to have

Of course you can. Many things are contrary to the "etiquette", and we can intentionally ignore the rules, but you have to know thems to be able to break them. Imho when it comes to formal dress code, elegance means pass unnoticed and be coherent to the situation. If the wedding party is "black tie" (i.e. tux), wearing a sport watch is just like WRITING UPPERCASE ON WATCH FORUMS: we could do it, but we don't.

I would go with the JLC humid or not. Many more chances to wear Submariner or Daytona.
