Apologies if this is a stupid question re: ladies' datejust. . .

. . . but I am much less familiar with ladies' watches and the Rolex official website is maddening.

Does Rolex still manufacture the 26mm Ladies' DJ 79173? If not, when did manufacture cease? That looks like the perfect watch for my petite wife, but I would want her to have a BNIB.

Thanks in advance -

I am not sure about the exact reference (probably you are looking at a 179173), however the current DJ Lady 26mm has a 6 digit reference.

The one you are referring to could be found as new old stock but frankly I would go for the newer reference.

.

Last year for 79173 was 2003. Replaced after Basel 2004 by 179173.

I agree with themast that you should go for the 6 digits ref. more easy to find BNIB.

I aslo prefer the shape of the case for the new model. It's a personal opinion as I wouldnt wear it personnally ...

Alan - for a petit lady you picked perfectly IMHO. Very hard to find NOS though.

The newer replacement is chunkier - not better for the petit wrist.

Thank you - although I think the older cases are sleeker -
