+1 - Looks awesome. I'd do it and hold on the original parts in case you want to flip it later.

I did the photoshop work, I'll make another one tonight showing just the date wheel red, and another showing just the second hand. Hopefully that will help you visualize and decide.

I'm a wuss and the only mod I've do to a Rolex would be to put a leather strap on it but I really do like seeing what other courageous souls do. I say mod the hell out of it!

FYI, I have Lum-Tec Tungsten with a modded red second hand and I don't like it. It's actually kind of hard to see.

I like the stock better. Maybe add the red wheel. But doesn't feel like the red second hand.

You have a dive watch.
Red is the first color that starts to disappear underwater, at around 20ft. I guess it would be a rare occasion that you would need to know the date while diving, but less rare to need the second hand sweep. Personally, even though my diving is now limited to snorkeling, I would not do a mod that is contrary to the intended use of the watch. I think it looks fine, but I would not. |

Yeah, I did the easy part. Now you have the hard part - deciding! The good thing is, there is no deadline for this decision, and in the meantime you have a great SubC to wear.

Sorry, makes it look cheap and tacky...
You turned elegant black and white chess into childrens black and red checkers. To each their own, if you like it, blah blah blah... |

I think it looks kind of cool. As for those saying they would never mod a rolex, I think that applies more to vintage, not new. I wouldn't mod a vintage rolex, much as I would not mod a vintage car. A new car however, well I'd have no problem changing suspension, software tube, etc. Go with what you like best. I vote
1: only the second hand 2: both 3: only date wheel. Best of luck! |
