Yea, it was, my DJ was $5400, I just did not want to pay $8000, $5400 was plenty, I loved the look of the DJ, ended up coming across a Sub about a month later and bought it for $3500, wore it all the time, the DJ stayed on the winder.

Now I rotate my PAM and DSSD, I want to to enjoy them both.

My 2 favorites. If you can swing it, buy them both.

I beat myself for very long trying to decide between a Sub-C and a DSSD. In the end, the inner ring on the DSSD, with "original gas escape valve / ringlock system" made me go with the Sub, which just seems more classy overall, imo. I really liked the lack of cyclops and size (but not height) on the DSSD, but for the long run the Sub seems a much more versatile watch.

This line of thought applies to the SD too, I think, with the bonus of not having a cyclops to begin with!

Yes, pretty much. A mm bigger perhaps. But it looks much larger due to the maxi dial and hands.

Having said this, every time I see a DSSD there is a weird feeling that this is the baddest watch Rolex has ever made. It's mean. It's big. It's high tech. It's just bada$$. Which makes me wanting to add one to the collection to wear on vacation and on weekends.

Comes to my question, is it overkill to have both the original seadweller and a DSSD? I do not plan on selling the SeaDweller. So it's either have both or come to the conclusion that while the DSSD is an awesome piece of machinery it just may not be for me.

Any views would be great.
Found the solution-gift the SD to my wife and get the DSSD for myself. Double wrist shot at the Peak in HK.
