Datejust advice please

Advice needed please, looking to buy this watch. Seems reasonably priced at £1400 with no box and papers. Can anyone tell from the picture if it has the sapphire crystal and if the bracelet looks right. It has lug holes so would be about 1979 - 1986. I asked the seller for S/N but as it has no paperwork they could not say. I have only seen the newer bracelet.

Also I have large wrists the watch has 20 full links, I think these come with 22. Does anyone know how long a new unadjusted bracelet would be. I think if I divide the length by the number of links then multiply by 20 I will get a good idea of the size.

Couldn't tell you from that 1 picture, why is the lettering on the dial faded?
Others will also tell you buy the seller.

Can you post a pic from an angle so we can see the crystal better? Looks to be Acrylic but hard to tell. Why not ask the seller? If he/she does not know, then do you even want to be buying this watch?

Based upon the faded lettering, I'd be leary.

Just be careful.

Magnifications seems to be ok, but in the photo of the back, almost looks like the gold is wearing off of the crown, if so.... watch may not be real.

The dial is not faded, the watch is genuine and not in dought. The questions are because I only have these pictures. I asked the seller he did not know about the crystal. He said it was flat when I asked him but I am not sure if he knew what I meant.

At least you know the watch is legit.

A few better photos and the crystal is an easy answer.

If it is flat, then probably sapphire.

The bracelet has severe stretch. I'd pass.
Why is the text on the dial blurred out?

I would say that this watch is probably from the 70's and the vendor is being less than honest to claim they cannot give the serial number.. Serials are plainly visible on the sides of the case under the bracelet and "paperwork" is not needed..

However, one side of the bracelet is using a suspect endlink and so, again, the vendor may have done anything to give this example life..

There are surely better and newer examples for that price..

That bracelet has oval links so it is probably from the 70s or earlier. A new bracelet comes with 22 links. Crystal is acrylic.
