127 to me is the best "modern day" representation of Panerai history.
372 vs 127 makes for an even better debate, but I still give it to the 127. Definately love the Destro though! 368 would be my choice if I went down that road. |

They're basically the same watch but the 127 is probably my pick for obvious reasons.

one's just the destro version of the other, right? if I was right handed (I'm a lefty), I'd get the destro versions. I like having the crown guards away from my hand.

127 has more pop of the two .. I really don't care about the DNA. IMO, None of the two have any real DNA .. Only the actual vintage pieces do.

Both are great representatives of vintage Panerai; I'd take the 217 over the 127 simply because the "MM" logo will no longer be used - and that's a FACT.

Why will it no longer be used?

argh....both watches so tempting - im starting to worry, though, both may be impractical for 'daily' wear?
does anyone happen to know how thick each is? |

Never, EVER in a business environment should you be caught dead wearing a short-sleeved shirt. Roll them up if it's hot...
@ufboy, my guess is that it's similar to my 233 (despite them being 47mm) so we're talking 17.5 mm. Same 1950 case, dome crystal and caseback for a handwound mvmt. Generally-speaking, it is a tough fit but doable. My "cuffed" shirts seem to be generous and with regular shirts I tend to leave them un-buttoned. The jacket keeps them in line...

Some are just way too big for a 'business' environment.
eg. 17.5 x 47mm. Unless you own the Company. Buttoned cuffs are de rigueur in Morphett Vale SA.

oh my! thats a heck of a militare collection!
i know its just two stupid words on the dial but, geez, something about them is just really appealing to me. i was actually pretty intereste in the 339 potentially, also, but some of those nasty discoloration pics have really scared me off....its a real shame, since the watch looks so unique and yet still an homage |

The left-most is a Pre-V 202/A "non-matching", the two to it's right are both PAM 036 (1998)

im curious, as the marina collection pictured doesnt seem to show one, is the 82 somehow thought of as a 'lesser' MM? its price also seems out of line compared to the others |

I hope Panerai brings back the smaller seconds dial at 3 or 9 o'clock, like on the 217 and 127. That's a detail that catches my eye when distinguishing the various models.
Here is a borrowed pic showing the 127 vs 233 and another borrowed pic of the 127 and 217 (destro). Gold colored hands and small(er) seconds dial makes these watches stand apart from the usual formula.
