Who knows maybe one day.

If you want a date go with a Tudor:

Ive gotten used to it and kind of like it WO the date. Now a days its more about the watch then the function. Function follows form lol. After all, if I really need any function I will use my $200 iPhone. It has time, date, reminders, calendar , internet etc and is usually on me all the time my watch is. Last thing I do is buy a 10K+ watch based on features.

I would wear my Daytona more if it did have the date.

Wannabe daytona

I think if the Daytona looked like this, I'd be all over it.

The no date thing does not bother me. And it would not keep me from owning this piece.

Daytona would be much improved with a date function. MANY chronos have a date function on them and they're not considered "busy".
I love mine, but would love it MORE if it had a date on it.

Mike, how do you set the Chrono hand to the date?

'Simple' set the chrono hand to a minute marker between 1 and 31.

Yeah, that sounds like a plan.

I would not spend over $10,000 on a watch that did not have a date function.

I have not bought a modern Daytona partly because it does not have a date function. But I do have a Tudor Oysterdate and other chronos that do.

So given that there is a huge array of watches that have both a chrono and date function, I'm always a little confused as to why people moan about this on the Daytona. Rolex isn't the only luxury watch brand available......

In my view, if something doesn't have a function you feel is important to you move on....... I doubt there will ever be a watch that does everything....... and looks good at the same time .....

After a decade of wearing an Explorer II as my daily wearer, I finally treated myself to a Daytona, which I had coveted for a very long time. The first thing I noticed, when I started wearing it..."Man, I miss having the date." Now, several years later, I still turn to my watch, out of habit, and if I'm wearing the Daytona, no date for me. :( While it certainly is not a dealbreaker, I do wish it had the date. It's become habit for me to look to my wrist for time and/or date.
