Watch looks genuine, band is fake. A fairly average example of an early matte-dialed variant; ugly hands, scratched and damaged insert, soft case. I would figure it around $3,500 as it stands.

There are some stains on the date wheel and it seems slightly stuck, also, someone tried to open it with a monkey wrench or similar. I would not buy that without opening it up and make sure the movement isn't water damaged.

Band is fake for sure, just consider end links which are totally inadequate !
Watch itself looks crapy, and hour and minute hands were changed, I'm even thinking these are not original Rolex hands. IMHO, you should go and look for another one right away ! ;)

If the movement is not water damaged I would plan on spending a grand to refurb it. Crown looks funny to me as we'll but might just be the angle of the picture. Refurb it and wear it on a NATO band.
Six hundred is cheap I would be very cautious as it might be a scam. |

600 bucks?????????
uh 600 bucks for any sport rolex i would think is a red flag unless you are buying it from someone who has lived in the middle of nowhere for the past 30 years, has no internet access nor any friends with internet access or a telephone plus cannot walk to any local telephone and has bad eyesight and poor judgement and bought originally for 150 bucks sounds too good to be true for my .02 |

Be careful. these are all good comments but be sure to see the movement too inside and the caseback cover. Once we see even 1 thing that looks suspicious or wrong, it makes us look closer and wonder what else is not right. take it to someone to inspect who deals in vintage Rolex.

Why not ? If you don't buy it get me in touch with the seller and I'll buy the beers HAGONe maybe this is true? but i would still have someone look at it because $600.00 can turn into what we call BUPKIS real quick if its all a fugazi |
