ROO Schwarzenegger opinions

Hi guys

I was pretty set to go for 15202 in yellow gold but tried a steel version and even with the extra weight I will get with Gold just doesnt have the size I would like from this purchase, I have almost 8" wrist and specifically want yellow gold.

So I have decided to move up to ROO, I currently have the Panda which I love and wears perfect so considering the schwarzenegger and would be appreciative of some feedback on the following questions.

1. Production I beleive was 2004, without finding a watch that has written proof of servicing, what should I allow for?

2. There seems to be quite a few for a LE available, was this piece not overly popular?

3. Does anyone have wrist shots and/or close ups IRL?

4. Thoughts on brown dial, hard to tell from the photos I have been able to find.

Understand thats a lot of questions so very grateful for any feedback.

Try an ROC in yellow gold. They tend to wear larger. IMO nicer than the Schwarzenegger.

I was looking at this as well as I love a gold AP bezel, but I didnt fancy the brown dial, so if I were you I would get it and look for a grey RGRC dial or any ROO dial you like and swap it in. For my wrists the ROC RG was perfect.

Useless $0.02 opinion follows, sorry! I somehow never warmed up to limited editions for certain people.

For example AP did a watch for Lebron and Shaq while Hublot did one for Dwayne Wade. These usually involve some team colors or special treatment of the players number for example. The issue for me would be that if this athlete was traded to another team I might feel differently about the player and then the watch.

Same goes for actors. I know Harrison Ford has some ties with Hamilton. For people like him and also Arnold you have a mix of feelings for them as an actor, their politics and also the way they carry themselves. Ford has very liberal politics and makes a lot of effort to push his ideals. Of course Arnold was in political office for some time on the conservative side.

The worst case is when a famous person commits a crime or cheats on their spouse etc. I don't wish to get into heated political debate but my opinion of Arnold was severely lowered in recent years. In the case of athletes there is an alarming rate of misbehavior.

Sorry again, this ended up being kind of a rant which was not intended. I only wished to state my view that I avoid special editions made for certain people since people are fallible and there are very few heroes left in the world.

I agree with you but not because people are not infallible, but I just tend to feel that special editions are not pieces that will be classics forever. I love the looks of the AP Leo Messi, but I would just never buy it because it is a tribute to someone I do not really care about. And if I were to care about Messi now, there would probably be someone in the future that is better than him. Special editions for another brand is acceptable, because that will probably be something that can be respected for a long time to come, in contrast to individuals. Even though resale value on Breitling for Bentley is bad, I like the collaboration because it is one of two respected and established companies.

You have a large wrist and should consider the limited Arnold All Stars 48mm too. I know you mentioned you want yellow gold. But this one is a rose and quite nice too. Here was mine when I owned it. My wrist is 7 1/4."

Thanks all for the replies and I must admit I never thought so much about the person behind the special edition, I will ponder whether this has some real meaning with me or its just the name of the watch.

Yellow gold is what I am after so not a lot of choices maybe the Monte Napoleone? I would still love to see some wrists shots of AS, comments on age of watch and servicing requirements and if anyone has experienced the brown dial first hand if anyone has handled this watch?

I think this is all telling you its not an appealing watch and thus there are too many for sale. I would look for something else unless you willing to swap a nicer dial in.

I am afraid I don't have wrist shots but I have had both this and the 48mm rose gold Arnie on my wrist and would go with the latter every time, especially as you have a good sized wrist. The brown dial is fine, it's just the slightly old fashioned 42mm that put me off (but then that's the same comment for all 42mm models).

I have to say, if 42mm is what you want, and yellow gold, I think the Monte Napoleon is a nicer option than the 42mm Arnie.
