is my band hollow or solid?

I have a 1803 with the original pres 18k band, I wanted to know if my 18k gold band is hollow or solid cause I tried on a womens rolex pres tonight and it felt like the same weight? anyone know? thanks

Yes your band is hollow. Solid band started around P serial year 2000 or model number 118238 with six digits.

1803 is only about 118 grams compared to 180 grams for the new ones

The numbers are for the total amount of gold in watch and bracelet I assume?

It's been beaten to death here. The new style pres. links are not solid thru the entire link it still has a whole bored for the pin. Old style they folded over solid gold for the link . Like Padi likes to say who said'' heaver is better''.

Yeah, I don't think the cases are completely solid either.

Mark beautiful band is that the solid band or the older model? thats what im looking for, I like the hidden clasp better then the one I have now. thanks for the photo. Robert
