Watch Out on this one
Some are easy to spot. I thought I'd post this one as it's one of the better ones (though the seller calls out the obvious issues).
Nothing is legit on this thing so don't bid. Fake Blue 9411 Mods, if not cool, please delete.

Reported.
As a general rule, I avoid vintage watches with matching heavy patina on the hands/dial. I think the % of real original vintage Rolexes that coincidentally ended up with the exact same patina on the hands and dial is rather low. Yet there always seem to be "unpolished pristine" watches for sale with super-closely-matching dial/hands. It's like somebody wrote in a Rolex book 20 years ago that "one of the things collectors look for is matching color of dial and hands" and that thought has been thoughtlessly echoed ever since. And, essentially, fakers think it's still a checkbox they should check. Nice matching cream dial plots and hands, sure that's nice...but if you ever see dial/hands with a perfectly-identical shade of orange or tan, be extra scrutinizing. JMHO. |
