Tried on the Plat Daytona today,
there is one at Rolex Orlando. They said there have been 7 shipped to the USA so far. I really like this watch, the colors are really nice. The metal just glows. Of course the watch is very heavy. Another home run by Rolex. IMO.

Nice! Seems like at first a lot did not particularly like the piece when it was a Basel announcement, however appears many have come around to it.

Did you give it back? It's always fun trying new pieces when they come out, glad you were able to check it out.

Art, do you like the pricetag as much as the watch?

We have one here in NJ at a Rolex function at Sidney Thomas (Ross Simmons formally) in the Short Hills mall. They were shipped some special edition pieces and they didn't have any movements inside. The watch was heavy even without the movement. I will bring my Day Date II platinum and weigh them once they get one which is do around Christmas time. I'm thinking about leaving a deposit but I'm not so sure yet. We all know that next Basil is going to be a big event for Patek 175 years. I probably will wait for Patek. @75k for a Daytona movement I don't think it is a wise move.

The Leeds store at South Coast Plaza had one in the outside display case. Nice looking. I know that it weighs more but it looks like a gussied up SS model.

Saw one in Honolulu last week at the AD in Waikiki. Have we accounted for the "7" sent to the USA yet?

Rolex would not accept my advice on fully brushed bracelet, so I probably won't get one.
