No, but If I ever get over my constant need to try and get a discount and there are plenty to be had in Japan I will give him my business for sure.

Yea. I felt that way a bit. Really made me feel no pressure and was so nice I felt a bit guilty walking out of there.

Springers

Was at Springers in Portsmouth NH to pick up something for my wife and they were so much fun to deal with I ended up leaving with the Hulk.
Cheers

Baron and Leeds is an excellent AD with great, dedicated staff. I've had the privilege of meeting the owner - a superb businessman and a real gentleman.

Visitors to Maui please be aware the shop in Wailea has relocated into temporary space across the hallway in the same shopping center while they renovate the original store. This will include an expansion that should approximately double their square footage.

They're planning to host their grand [re]opening sometime in the first week of December.

Are you guys serious???

Let me get this straight....If a Rolex dealer allows you, a potential customer, to try on a watch, or any watch he has for sale in store, and be polite to a customer, you consider this something extraordinary??

Its like going into a car dealership and being impressed that they let you test drive a car before buying it.

Yup. It's called Stockholm syndrome.

Some dealers give out "good" discounts, allow certain customers to attend private corporate events (with or without free food and/or alcohol), give out cool Rolex promotional items, work hard to ensure their best customers are the first to be offered hard-to-find newly released models, provide good, or better than average communications, Etc.

I'm not sure if these things qualify as extraordinary, but they can be considered good, especially to the beneficiary.

Short of performing favors of a more physical nature, how would you define an extraordinary dealer?

No, an AD being polite is not extraordinary in itself but some just go that extra mile to make the experience it a bit better.
But you would know that.

We spent a looooong time in there and as I said I was sure he knew that I was not going to buy anything. His manager was great too and even spoke some Japanese. I don't know. You had to be there. This was the nicest I was ever treated at an AD anywhere in the world the first time I entered.
