rolex warranty question
just a quick question, for example if I have a rolex gmtiic and send it in for its first service, say there is a scratch on the ceramic do they replace the ceramic bezel for free or charge you, I believe they do a full polish for free and send them back looking like new from what I have heard but do they charge for particular things/parts???

Good question. My guess is they don't since it's not polishable. You have to replace it
Ceramic bezel shouldn't search it just breaks! Nidal |

Ceramic bezel is not part of the service and won't be replaced free of charge.

that's what I figured, I just didn't know if there was certain time frame since it hasn't been out for its first service yet, but they still charge for parts if they are needed. makes sense

Have to add, nothing is free so they are charging you for the polish with the service price.

Of course the bezel insert is not part of the expendables on the ceramic models, nor is the crown or tube...

I'd say its 50/50, I phoned re a broken bezel pip on a ceramic bezel and the RSC said if it was under warranty they would do it F.O.C. It wasn't, so I didn't get it changed in the end.

However, when you read on how "hard and resistant to scratches" they brand the ceramic bezel should be, it could be that they want to get any news on this happening of the streets. And as we all know, news travels fast here on TRF I hope they do change it for you, since it would be a costly experience if you had to pay for it. Good luck! |

For warranty to kick in you would have to see the scratch before leaving the store. Once you leave the store any WEAR problems is on you.

Just thinking a little more about the conversation, I remember the tech saying that as long as there wasn't any obvious impact damage to the bezel, so I suppose it's a level or reasonableness. If the pip has shattered with no other obvious damage, then it is not fit for purpose, if the pip has shattered and there is a huge gouge in the bezel, down to you
