Okay, here's an update, if anybody is interested.
I took it back to RSC on 5th Ave today, and after inspecting it they told me that a jewel had been knocked loose. Obviously this had not been done by me, as the watch was already running poorly when I picked it up from them last week. So, they apologized profusely and said that they would fix it and get it back to me as quickly as they can (which of course means another 4-5 weeks). I'll update the thread again in another month, hopefully with happy news! |

Wow, IIRC, jewels are press fit into place. Pretty surprising that one could come loose immediately after service. Did they provide any type of explanation?
BTW - congrats on on having it back and running properly. It's a real beauty.

Gotta watch them runaway jewels! Thanks for posting this whole story and the resolution. I suspected it had to be something fairly dramatic for that manifestation. Congrats on getting it resolved.

Knocked a jewel loose?
How did they wind it, with a hammer..?
