looking for verification
my girlfriend bought this watch for me, without me knowing ( i wouldnt have bought it off ebay... but it did come from a "reputable dealer", and i want to get it verified, the local AD's said I would have to get it sent to rolex because they could not do it on site. I was wondering if any of you have ever sent a watch away and how long did it take to come back from rolex?
I wanted to return the watch because I wanted to submariner and the dealer will not let me return it, so i want to make sure its truely a rolex and then start from there... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...ksid=p3907.m29 that is the exact same listing from the dealer that the watch was bought from. thanks for the help in advance. |

Welcome to TRF
Your local AD is being a jerk. Maybe because it wasn't bought from them. Any AD should be able to verufy it by taking the caseback off. Some might charge you for it, but no way it should go back to Rolex for it.

Road trip. Go to Rolex USA on 5th Avenue. Or go to a pawn shop or watch dealer and offer it for sale. They will then till you if it is real or not.

i called around to other jewelery stores and got a hold of a jeweler who my gf bought her rolex off of a few years ago, he did not deal in rolexs anymore but told me the rolex dealer was lying to me because they prolly didnt want to deal with another persons rolex off ebay, he knew for a fact they had a rolex repairman of staff, so i drove down there and brought the watch, and they took it and its now getting verified. the salesperson was pretty sure it wasnt a fake and they are keeping until wednesday to verify it and add links.... if it comes back fake though, thats when the real fun is going to start...
